I took my Roadie 24 cooler with me on my trip across Canada. All the way from Montreal to Vancouver, up through the Rockies and into northern British Columbia. It comes in all colours — from the deep blue of Quebec blueberry juice to the bold red of a badly resealed bottle of Okanagan wine. I must admit it’s been a sturdy yet reliable travel companion and did everything I’d expect it to do and more throughout my six-week journey on the road.

My last cooler was a total fail. I got it on sale at a big Canadian hardware store (that shall not be named). I probably should have known something was up when the handle ripped off its hinges the very first time I put it in my car. In short, I didn’t want a repeat of what happened last summer and was looking for a high-quality product that could handle anything I threw at it. The Roadie 24 stood up to the challenge. It successfully weathered the repeated pecking from the crows at a Prince Rupert campground.

It held its own during a sweltering heatwave in Jasper. And it didn’t bat an eye when I climbed on top of it when a friendly snake slithered through my campsite in Algonquin Park.

I really like the slim and compact design. It can accommodate just about any type of drink and neatly tucks away behind the front seat of my car. It keeps things ice-cold and has a streamlined look that’s perfect for camping. It even managed to stay bright white since it was easy to clean up spills and stains with a cloth.

It’s truly the best travel companion I’ve had over the past 10 years and will probably be part of my adventures for the next 10.

The new design accommodates an upright bottle of wine, allowing you to instantly boost your picnic game. And the slim design means it’ll slide behind the front seat of the car, giving you quick access to ice-cold drinks no matter how long the journey. And when you arrive at your destination the 24 Roadie is ready to party, with a capacity of 18 cans of beer (using a 2:1 ice-to-can ratio by volume).

Yeti Roadie 24: La compagne d’aventure ultime
