Nos sens s’éveillaient au rythme de l’éclosion des bourgeons. L’odeur du bois mouillé et des feux de camp nous parvenait déjà. Par-delà nos fenêtres, l’appel des montagnes se faisait particulièrement invitant cette année. L’exploration locale saura-t-elle combler nos envies d’évasion outre-mer ? Une chose est sûre : en imposant un temps de réflexion collectif, la secousse virale nous léguera l’envie de se redéfinir et de se tisser une nouvelle forme de normalité.
Ses répercussions soulèvent maints questionnements, mais ne balayent pas les enjeux qui lui préexistaient pour autant. C’est pourquoi Vie en montagne souhaite rendre hommage au potentiel estival du Québec en matière de plein air, mais aussi poursuivre certaines conversations amorcées avant — tout en gardant l’œil rivé sur l’avenir. – Sophie Lachance
It seems like this summer, mountains are not only calling—they are chanting our name in a tempting serenade. It took us a while before we could answer, but we finally did. Will we be satisfied with exploring our own backyards or will we long to spread our wings and escape overseas? What we know for sure is that these unprecedented times have forced many of us to slow down, focus our attention inwards and begin paving the way for a new and better “normal.”
The last few months have undoubtedly raised numerous questions but have not caused us to forget about the deep-rooted underlying issues still at hand. That is why Vie en montagne is not only committed to showcasing all that summer in Quebec’s outdoors has to offer; we want to keep the dialogue going while staying focused on the future. – Sophie Lachance
