Up here in the Great White North, summer is a fickle beast. We’re not exactly known for our heat waves, but that’s exactly what the people of coastal British Columbia experienced in July 2021, when records were broken all across the province during a two-week-long heat dome. Thankfully we had Fieldsheer’s unique cooling products to keep us safe and sane.

The Mobile Cooling® Women’s Hooded Long Sleeve Shirt kept us cool on long ocean paddles and long days in the dusty bike park. Designed for optimal sun protection paired with drirelease® technology, it’s ideal for any outdoor summer sport you can throw at it, ensuring you’ll remain cool, comfortable, and protected from harmful UV rays from the valley floor to the high alpine.

Manufactured with 92% recycled polyester and UPF 50+, this magical hoodie offers reduced skin temperatures of up to 7° and dries 4x faster than traditional knits. Ideally suited for any outdoor pursuits from work to recreation. It’s one of those garments that looks good, feels good and actually delivers on its functionality promise—to keep you cool.
While the hoodie was a definite winner, the Mobile Cooling Towel stole the summer show. Because the towels are ultra-lightweight and take up next to no space, these little beauties went inside our ice-filled coolers and then on our necks and faces to keep our heads cool. All. Summer. Long. Designed to offer quick, water-activated cooling, we used them on the golf course, on belay at the crag, on long hikes in the alpine (really good for swatting mosquitoes too!).

Just add water to the Hydrologic® cooling towel and wring out or snap to immediately activate cooling effects. The lightweight fabric absorbs moisture efficiently, keeping you cool and dry all day. When the towel dries off, simply re-dip into cold water and re-apply. Safe to say these towels will always have a spot in the summer gear checklist.
