A new BC Parks Foundation lottery offers the chance to win adventures in Haida Gwaii, the Rockies, Whistler and beyond—while helping protect some of Canada’s most iconic landscapes.

The best trips often begin with a daydream.
Maybe it’s standing on a rocky Haida Gwaii shoreline as the Pacific rolls in. Maybe it’s watching snow-covered peaks slide past the window of a train winding through the Rockies. Or maybe it’s waking up in Whistler with a mountain bike or a hiking trail waiting just outside the door.
British Columbia doesn’t exactly lack adventures. The challenge is choosing one.
Now BC Parks Foundation is offering outdoor lovers a chance to do just that through its first-ever Win for the Wild lottery. The initiative combines dream-trip prizes with a simple idea: use adventure to help protect the places that make adventure possible.
A Ticket to Haida Gwaii
At the heart of the lottery is a grand prize valued at more than $20,000 that sends two people to Xaayda Gwaay Haida Gwaii, the archipelago off BC’s northwest coast often described as Canada’s Galápagos. The trip includes return flights from Vancouver, a three-night fishing adventure at Langara Lodge and four nights at Haida House, a waterfront lodge owned by the Haida Nation through Haida Enterprise Corporation (HaiCo).
The initiative combines dream-trip prizes with a simple idea: use adventure to help protect the places that make adventure possible.
“Our tourism properties, including Haida House, are proudly owned by the XaaydaGa Haida people,” says Leticia Hill, CEO of Haida Enterprise Corporation. “We are honoured to welcome the Win for the Wild grand-prize winners to Xaayda Gwaay Haida Gwaii and share the culture, landscapes and hospitality that make our islands unique.”

For anyone who has spent time in Haida Gwaii, or spent years promising themselves they eventually will, the appeal is obvious: Ancient cedar forests, empty beaches, rich marine ecosystems and a culture deeply connected to the land and ocean for thousands of years. It is the kind of place that will linger in your memory.
Adventures Across the Province
The remaining prizes are no less rooted in the landscapes that define British Columbia and Canada. One winner will board Rocky Mountaineer for a rail journey through the Rockies, tracing a route through some of the continent’s most dramatic mountain scenery. Others could find themselves on a luxury Whistler getaway, chasing powder at Big White or outfitting their next adventure with a Sporting Life and Coleman gear package.
The destinations weren’t chosen at random. Each prize highlights regions where BC Parks Foundation and the BC Conservation Fund support conservation, stewardship and education initiatives.

Protecting the Places We Love To Explore
That connection between recreation and conservation is increasingly important as more people discover BC’s parks, trails, shorelines and backcountry landscapes. The province’s protected areas have become everything from weekend escapes and endurance training grounds to classrooms and sanctuaries from screen time.
Funds raised through the lottery will support BC Parks Foundation’s work protecting lands, waters and wildlife, caring for parks and creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience the outdoors. In other words, every ticket is an investment in the places many British Columbians already love to explore.
Ticket sales run until November 15, with the grand-prize draw taking place on November 18. Whether your dream trip involves a remote Pacific archipelago, a mountain rail journey or a winter escape into BC’s snowy interior, the odds may be long—but the destinations are worth dreaming about.
