The Girl Winter Film Tour returns, celebrating women’s snow culture with fresh films and more stops, including Montreal and Vancouver.

Building on the momentum of last year’s sold-out debut, the Girl Winter Film Tour returns to theatres across North America with an expanded slate celebrating women and non-binary voices in snowsports. The 2025 edition features six crisp new films, community activations and live music at select stops, cementing Girl Winter as the must-attend snow event of the season.
The two Canadian tour stops are Montreal (October 28 at the Beaubien Theatre) and Vancouver (date and location TBD).
This year’s “snack-size” films (running from 3 to 25 mins) channel the spirit of the “girl dinner” trend, serving up a mix of stories from Indigenous filmmakers, pro athletes and everyday adventurers. From themes of friendship and motherhood to personal redemption, the lineup captures the humour, depth and range of experiences that define today’s mountain community.

“The submissions this year were of such a high caliber,” said Katie Cooney, creative director of Girl Winter and co-founder of Moonrise Studio. “The talent, both in front of and behind the lens, is redefining women’s ski culture, and we can’t wait to share.”
A teaser for Moonrise Studio’s upcoming feature Winter Elements—which highlights women shaping the ski industry and promoting equity on and off the slopes—will premiere during the tour, with the full film slated for release next fall.

“Representation is so important for the next generation to believe they can build a more diverse and equitable snow community,” said Sierra Schlag, pro skier and brand director for Girl Winter. “I hope the tour inspires skiers of all genders, ages and orientations to enjoy winter, pursue their dreams, and live their own authentic story.”
Following the Oct. 9 launch in Park City, Utah, the tour continues across North America, each stop offering a community-driven celebration of skiing and connection. Exclusive Girl Winter merch—from limited-edition tees and hats to custom Yeti gear, biodegradable glitter and a Stio collaboration beanie—will be available at select screenings.
