Cascade Mountain Tech Ultralight Carbon Fibre Trekking Poles

The collapsible/multi-adjustable poles are priced significantly lower than the competition but offer all the bells, whistles and quality. They’re very light (5.6 ounces each), sturdy and easy to adjust, lock and collapse. The poles come complete with four different attachments to fit over the tungsten carbide tips—mud baskets, snow baskets, “rubber-boot” tips and smaller rubber tips—plus a carrying case. And they collapse down to a very packable length of just over 42 cm. More info here. Buy in Canada at costco.ca.

No-Slip Grip

No-Slip Grip

There’s a lot to like here but our favourite feature is the cork grip handle (with padded wrist strap) that wicks away moisture and dampens vibrations for non-slip performance and all-day comfort. Plus: the 12-cm down-grip just below it (made of grippy EVA foam) gives you something to hang onto when you’re adjusting/collapsing the poles.

The Lido’s 580® lenses were designed by Costa’s in-house light spectrum experts to enhance colours where standard sunglass lenses fell short. The lens’ multi-patented technology manages light by: absorbing Harmful High-Energy Blue Light (HEV); enhancing reds, greens, and blues; and filtering out harsh yellows. AND: Costa’s Bio-Resin Raw Material Process is part of their Kick Plastic initiative to reduce their carbon footprint and protect the planet’s waters. Bio-resin frames (made from the seeds of the castor plant) are durable and lightweight, and hold their shape under the harshest conditions.

Sperry’s heritage as makers of on-water footwear comes to the fore in its “Adaptive Wave-Siping” tech, which utilizes tiny, wavy slits in the rubber outsoles, in combination with larger and deeper grooves, to disperse water away from the soles and give you incredible grip in wet (and dry) conditions.
