A new film from Tin House Creative, ‘My Mountain’, showcases the unique northern ski community surrounding Shames Mountain Co-op.
“It’s a soul piece about this ski community on the northern coast,” says filmmaker Rex Lint. “My wife and I go up there every year and work for a heli ski operation, then we usually stay and tour with our friends on the frontier. We decided last year to create a short narrative type piece about the ski community up there as a benefit for Shames Mountain Co-op.”
“We wanted to do something different that the normal,” continues Lint. “We decided to use a legendary First Nation DJ as our thread and tell a story about a day in the life of people in the community getting together to celebrate the mountains, skiing, and each other.”
