Helly Hansen’s Open Mountain Month is an initiative to inspire and enable people to get outdoors. And it’s for seasoned outdoor-goers and novices alike.
Throughout June, Helly Hansen will draw on the expertise of search and rescue partners, professionals and brand ambassadors to expand awareness of outdoor experiences. Regional events, resources—and stories of trial and error—will provide the encouragement needed to venture out.
Here are a few key pieces for Open Mountain Month.
Odin 9 Worlds 3.0 Shell Jacket: Boasting 68% Ocean Bound recycled materials in the exterior fabric, this light and flexible shell is also certified bluesign (the manufacturing process that ensures the strictest safety standards from the chemical inputs to the final production). This three-layer pro-grade jacket is up for the toughest mountain conditions, like all-day rain, sleet and high winds. It breathes very well and the now lighter design makes it more packable than the original iteration. We see it working for year-round use. It is helmet and backpack-compatible, with ventilation zippers, an adjustable hem and a RECCO rescue system transponder. Available for men and women.

Odin Pro Shield Hybrid Softshell Jacket: This is something new: a cross between a softshell and a fleece, with the durability and weather protection of the former but the stretch and highly breathable warmth of the latter. This hybrid piece provides warmth when you need it, but will never overheat you. The exterior has a PFC-free water-repellent treatment to keep you dry in everything but a downpour. This is two jackets in one and you’ll wear it constantly, in four seasons. Includes RECCO safety reflector. And it’s also bluesign certified. Available for men and women.

LIFA Active Solen T-Shirt: A lightweight, technical T-shirt that wicks moisture and boasts UPF 50+ sun protection. As a part of the Solen collection, it combines two technologies: planet-friendly S.Café and LIFA Active fibers. All this, and the shirt is also made from 60% Ocean Bound recycled polyester. This is an ideal hot-weather shirt, with a very soft inner material that’s never itchy against your skin. Available for men and women.

FeatherSwift Trail Running Shoe: Looking to start trail running this year? No time like the present. And no shoe like the FeatherSwift. This is HH’s entry-level trail runner. Supportive and stable, yet cushioned and flexible with excellent traction, this lightweight trail runner boasts a 70% recycled upper, including recycled laces, lining and webbing, as well as zero-waste design elements. Available for men and women.

Resistor Backpack: This is a versatile 45L pack built for longer hiking trips that can also cinch down for day-pack use. The 3D internal wire frame with fully adjustable harness system provides a custom fit and optimizes how you carry your load. You’ll find lots of well-thought-out details and pockets, plus a RECCO transponder for safety.
