This is a high-octane super-baselayer. The Polartec High Loft Pant (available in women’s and men’s) is a reimagining of a Mountain Hardwear classic that continues to offer premium layering warmth with an all-day-wearable, ultra-soft feel. The Pant not only boasts lightweight Polartec High Loft fleece (which gives it its iconic warmth and look) it includes strategically placed panels of Polartec Power Stretch for added mobility and breathability.

If you’re dealing with colder temps you could double up and wear these overtop a thin baselayer. If you’re working hard on a warmer day, the High Loft Pant will probably suffice under a hardshell snow pant. Either way, when you shed your hardshells, the High Loft Pant is presentable enough to chill in the lodge or hut without having to change. And even after heavy touring, they never feel sodden. Plus, they dry faster than Merino wool.

Your typical baselayer or fleece pant has no articulation and tends to sag in the knee or seat after a lot of active use. But the High Loft Pant stretch panels give you the articulation you need as you tour or shred. And this means an uptick in both performance and comfort.
