Another fine day…

Make hay when the sun shines. I always love those old sayings. Truisms that seem to have been around as long as time and capture life’s complexities in a few simple words. This one is a favourite because I’ve spent a few summers farming hay and the advice is perfectly sound. Hay is just dried grass, so of course the best time to cut it, dry it, flip it, dry it more and bail it is during clear, warm weather. No one wants wet hay. 

But take those words a bit further and apply the concept to other aspects of your life, and it still works. Summer is when the sun shines, when the days are long and the air is warm. It’s the season of opportunity, our best chance to enjoy time outside. So get out there and seize the season. Get wet, get wild, get airtime or get down in the dirt ‘til your teeth turn brown. Wake up early and stay up late. Get after it. Summer is short and every day counts, go make some hay.
