A recyclable helmet and contrast-boosting goggles built to handle full-tilt winter riding from first chair to last lap.

Salomon Brigade Index MIPS Helmet: Sustainable Protection + Performance

Engineered with circularity in mind, the Brigade Index MIPS helmet represents a major shift in how ski and snowboard protection is designed and manufactured. Billed as the first fully recyclable snow helmet on the market, it is constructed with at least 96 percent of materials from the same origin, allowing the major components to be separated and reprocessed at the end of the product’s life. The goal is to extend responsibility beyond the point of purchase and ensure that high-performance protection does not have to end up in a landfill.

The Brigade Index MIPS pairs that sustainability focus with top-tier safety technology. It integrates the MIPS system, which is engineered to reduce rotational forces transmitted to the head during angled impacts (more commonly associated with brain injuries). Complementing MIPS is Salomon’s EPS4D technology, designed to absorb shock more efficiently across a wider range of impact energies. The helmet also incorporates EPP4D inserts, which enhance protection against both vertical and oblique impacts while improving durability over repeated minor hits. Together, these systems are intended to deliver comprehensive head protection that meets the demands of modern shredding.

The helmet’s injected shell construction balances strength and weight, offering solid impact deflection and long-term durability without bulk. It is also certified to the CE-EN 1077 European ski safety standard (independently tested to meet established impact and performance criteria for alpine use).

Fit and comfort receive equal attention. Salomon’s redesigned MaxFit Construction uses a V-shaped ear pad design that hugs the sides of the head for an immediate, snug feel without pressure points. The updated Custom Dial 360 V fit system allows riders to fine-tune the fit both horizontally and vertically, ensuring the helmet sits correctly on the head for consistent protection and comfort throughout the day. Fixed ventilation channels are integrated into the shell to maintain steady airflow, helping regulate temperature and reduce goggle fogging by promoting circulation between the helmet and eyewear.

Central to the Brigade Index MIPS concept is Salomon’s new helmet recycling program, which supports the product’s end-of-life promise. Through this initiative, consumers can return their used Brigade Index helmets to designated collection points or participating retailers, where the helmets are disassembled and the materials sorted for recycling.

Because the helmet’s components are largely made from compatible plastics, they can be processed together more efficiently than traditional multi-material designs that rely on glued or permanently bonded layers. The program is part of Salomon’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes reducing virgin plastic use, designing for disassembly and increasing transparency around material sourcing.

Salomon Sentry Pro SIGMA Goggles: Contrast Where It Counts

Whether you’re lapping the park or chasing deep lines after a storm, the Sentry Pro is designed to keep your vision crisp and your setup dialled in, no matter how fast the weather changes.

Rather than simply darkening the view, SIGMA selectively filters light to amplify colour separation, making it easier to distinguish variations in snow texture, ruts, bumps and shadows.

At the heart of the goggle is Salomon’s SIGMA lens technology, developed to enhance contrast and help your eyes read terrain more accurately. Rather than simply darkening the view, SIGMA selectively filters light to amplify colour separation, making it easier to distinguish variations in snow texture, ruts, bumps and shadows. In flat light or mixed conditions, that added contrast can mean the difference between reacting late and staying in control. The multilayer coating further reduces glare and manages brightness while maintaining natural colour balance so the landscape doesn’t look distorted or washed out.

The Sentry Pro comes with two lenses and a quick-change system that makes swapping them intuitive and fast. The primary lens (we demoed the SIGMA Gun Metal) offers a 12 percent visible light transmission rating, making it ideal for bright days (Category 3), while the additional lens is tuned for low light.

A cylindrical lens shape gives the goggle its clean profile while maintaining a wide, distortion-free field of vision. Salomon’s Amplified Vision design maximizes both vertical and horizontal sightlines, helping you spot landings, track lines through trees and stay aware of other riders in your periphery.

Salomon’s Custom ID Fit employs adaptive foam to conform to different face shapes for a secure, anatomical seal. The triple-layer face foam combines double-density polyurethane for structure and support with a velvety layer against the skin.

Fogging is managed through an integrated Airflow System that draws in fresh air while channeling moisture out, maintaining clear optics during high-output missions. The goggle is fully helmet-compatible, designed to integrate seamlessly with Salomon helmets for a consistent fit and ventilation. A silicone-backed strap ensures a secure grip, while a dual-slide buckle system allows for quick and precise strap adjustment.
