A rising tide lifts all boats

“A rising tide lifts all boats.”

Over the past two decades, Mountain Life has built a global community of contributors, advertising partners and readers who all share a passion for the outdoors. And one of the biggest strengths of that network is that the sum is greater than the parts. Each of those three pillars of the community—contributors, partners, readers—benefits from the other. And that, we think, is how a healthy community thrives.

Every issue of Mountain Life features between 25-40 photographers, writers and artists (and equally as many athletes) who share such a strong passion for the outdoors that they’ve sacrificed whatever it takes to get out there. These are not social media “influencers” trading heavily manufactured and posed images paired with gobbledegook “insights” to sell you whatever product meets their fee.

These are adventurers and explorers and mentors and dreamers who have dedicated their lives to pursuing that feeling of pushing out to the edges—of the maps, of possibility, of themselves—to peer over the brink, then come back with a tale to share with a community of people who appreciate such things as much as they do.

Our advertising partners provide the fuel that drives that engine of exploration. They help support the contributors and often directly enable the next adventure and the articles, photos and artwork of future issues. And with such high-calibre creative visions on the pages of Mountain Life, our partners take comfort knowing that Mountain Life has a 100 per cent pick-up rate—that means every single issue of the magazine ever printed has ended up in the hands of someone who shares that desire to get outside and get after it.

❝ Working with Mountain Life was an easy fit for Nita Lake Lodge. In a dynamic market that thrives on relationships, their team excels. Creating a personalized process, supporting our end-to-end marketing vision and ensuring our key placement and ad requirements were met was a top priority and managed seamlessly. We choose Mountain Life because of the strength and premium quality of the brand. ❞

And those readers eagerly pluck the magazines from the racks on delivery day, leaf those pages on the couch of their hotel room while waiting for their family to get ready, or tear pages out and tape them to the walls of the crammed chalet they’re spending the winter in. They bring issues of Mountain Life home with them to show and share the stoke they tapped into during their time in these wild places we are so fortunate to call home. Those readers are what it’s all about.

And then, with every magazine printed, that passion, creativity and dedication inspire others, who make their own sacrifices and set off on their own adventures, start their own outdoor careers, or buy that piece of gear they know will help them step things up. With each issue, the community grows stronger and more connected to each other and the wild landscapes that inspire us all.

Partnering with Mountain Life is about more than ensuring your business, product, or service is seen by the right audience at the right time. It’s also about nurturing that cycle and that community—the dreamers and the doers and the ones who inspire. The people who support them and those who share their passion and take inspiration from them. The pages of Mountain Life, and that community behind it, give us permission to wonder (and wander) and ask ourselves what else is possible. And the cycle continues with the arrival of each season, and each new issue of Mountain Life.
