I’m finally recovering from an injury that kept me off the mountains for most of the winter. Luckily for me, the less-than-stellar conditions this season spared me from any serious case of FOMO. So, when spring brought its perfect snowstorms, it was the ideal time to ease back into the mountains and test out the Dope Adept jacket.
Dope, the sister brand of Montec, embodies the laid-back, fun-loving vibe of snow adventures. When an April snowstorm hit Whistler, I took the Adept on a stroll. The jacket kept me snug and dry, thanks to its storm guard hood, storm cuffs, and breathable arm vents.
What I love about the Adept is its focus on comfort and mobility. I never felt restricted, whether I was skinning, adjusting my skins, sliding downhill, or bouncing back from a couple of tumbles, all while catching up with my dog. The slightly longer yet slim and roomy fit is perfect, and I love how the colour pops against the snow.
Other notable features include fully taped seams and medium-weight insulation, along with Eco-Friendly DWR for enhanced durability and environmental consciousness.
Speaking of sustainability, Dope is serious about protecting the planet. They use recycled materials and hold bluesign® certification, showing their dedication to reducing environmental impact. For example, they use Recycled Polyester PET with 90% of the polyester being recycled and opt for solution-dyed fabrics to enhance their eco-friendly stance.
I’m eager to thoroughly test this jacket in next year’s winter conditions, both on the slopes and in the backcountry. In the meantime, I’m loving how versatile it is during these cold, wet, and erratic spring days here in the Coast Mountains.
