If you’re new to home ownership in Southern Georgian Bay, the path you took to that closing date was likely similar to Robert Iantorno’s.

“Five years ago, my wife and I were looking for a place to relocate from our home in Toronto. We started by travelling to different locations around Georgian Bay, and after spending a weekend at an old farmhouse vacation rental, we knew we’d found the right area,” he says. “We thought, We’re going to stop commuting and see if we can make a life here.”

The blue waters of Georgian Bay, rocky cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment, endless recreational opportunities, quaint shops and world-class restaurants have long beckoned vacationers to the area for short stays. Those dreamy weekends often lead to additional visits—and, for the lucky ones, an eventual signature on the dotted line.

Investing in property for occasional use is a great option for many owners, as renting that property to short-term visitors generates income and subsidizes the costs of their vacation home. Iantorno chose to make his move permanent, and his new home in Singhampton and grand travel plans seemed a great fit for short-term renting.

Through research and positive feedback from other homeowners, he discovered Property Valet.

A full-service property management company, Property Valet specializes in short-term accommodations. They work with owners to offer vacation rentals in Collingwood, The Town of The Blue Mountains and other areas throughout Southern Georgian Bay. Because Property Valet was well-established and promised to take the worry out of short-term renting—while providing unforgettable holidays for Iantorno’s guests—he was sold. “I’m so glad I found them. They’re just great people, and we can trust them with every detail, from advertising and booking to cleaning and maintenance,” he says.

President Sean Landreth appreciates incredible hospitality and positive communication, and ensured those values were the cornerstones of Property Valet when he first launched the company. “Guests come to Southern Georgian Bay, they have enriching life experiences, enjoy their stay and love it here. They think, We need to go back again and maybe buy something, or stay longer next time,” he says. “This is what we focus on—creating memories.”

Whether those memories include guided hikes, gourmet fare, a helicopter ride or an afternoon at the spa, Property Valet and their extensive network of local partners help visitors curate their stays. “Visitors get to have these spectacular vacations, all while supporting and sustaining the local businesses that make this area unique,” Landreth says.

A healthy local community and economy is important to Landreth. With 45 team members servicing their 97 listings and growing, Property Valet keeps the service industry churning with professional linen service, cleaners and carpenters, electricians, plumbers and groundspeople. And they aren’t simply in the business of listing and renting homes—they help investors source properties, renovate, stage and decorate as well.

“We want to purvey the finest experience to everyone involved—homeowners, guests and local businesses,” Landreth says. “When a property is in great condition and best presented to accommodate guests, occupancy rates and experiences are optimized, and everyone wins.”

Iantorno was so happy with his Property Valet experience that he recently joined the team.

“I really felt cared for as a client,” he says. “I just really liked how they did things. The company has an incredible vibe, and their heart is in the right place. They have so many happy team members who really care about what they do, and I wanted to be part of it.”

Most homeowners won’t make the giant leap from client to staff, but Landreth does take pride in his list of satisfied clients, due in no small part to the Property Valet team of dedicated account managers. The one-on-one contact with 24/7 access makes the rental process seamless, and owners earn a worry-free return on their investments while guests create beautiful memories in Southern Georgian Bay.

Property Valet has exciting plans in the works—including curated inclusive vacation packages and expansion to other mountain vacation areas in Canada. Follow them on social media @propertyvalet_ and visit www.propertyvalet.ca to enroll as a client and start generating short-term accommodation income from your property. There is a trend—mostly with tourism organizations and marketing departments, but travel journalists have been on board for a while now too… and the trend is to use the phrase “untouched wilderness” when writing about remote areas like the Skeena Mountains of northern B.C.
