For eight decades, Auclair has been part of the fabric of winter itself—trusted by generations of skiers, riders and adventurers who know that real warmth is born from experience. Since 1945, Auclair gloves and mitts have been there through first descents and snowstorms, early mornings at the hill and long days on the trail, quietly protecting and performing.
What began with brothers Mathieu and René Auclair in Loretteville, Québec, has grown into one of Canada’s most storied glove makers. From their early fashion designs to the pioneering snowmobile gloves inspired by Bombardier’s Ski-Doo, Auclair evolved with the rhythm of winter recreation. Through the 1970s and beyond, as skiing and touring took off, Auclair’s craftsmanship expanded with it—developing purpose-built gloves for alpine athletes, guides and everyday winter enthusiasts.
Today, Auclair remains headquartered in Québec and deeply rooted in the winter sports ecosystem, its reputation for warmth, durability and comfort continuously strengthened. The brand continues to innovate and support the snow industry—partnering with Freestyle Canada, US Ski & Snowboard, Nordiq Canada and many others to support athletes. In recent years, Auclair has carried its legacy forward through collaborations with GORE-TEX and Québec-based Ewool, introducing heated glove collections that blend new technology with peerless craftsmanship.
