BERT is not a slipper, not a sandal and not a hut bootie. So what is it?
It’s a new, Colombian-made pre- and post-activity slip-on for hikers, bikepackers, fastpackers and any outdoorists before and after their trail time. BERT is a bit like a Sanuk but with a grippier, tougher sole and a streamlined, responsive fit. Designed with a barefoot/minimalist flair, BERT’s grooved (and recycled) rubber sole delivers grip and natural ground feedback while walking or running, and protects your foot.

BERT will also serve as a camp shoe to wear after a long day of paddling or backpacking to soothe and protect sore feet at the end of a long day. And with its ultralight/collapsible design, BERT will easily fold away into your already full-to-bursting pack when you’re on the move.

For serious campers, bikepackers, backpackers and van-lifers trying to cut down on weight and space, BERT is an ideal choice. It’s comfy like a slipper but offers the functionality of a barefoot runner. Gear that does double duty is always appealing for those looking to refine and improve their road kit.

They’re also hydrophobic, with nylon mesh and neoprene upper and waterproof EVA insole; the rubber sole also sheds water and grips well in damp conditions. So if you’re caught in bad weather and need to spring into action to secure your campsite, BERT can handle it.
The zero-drop sole promotes a balanced stance, while the wide toe box allows for broad toe splay, promoting stability and long-lasting comfort. The BERT will flex naturally as you walk, keeping you surefooted and in touch with the landscape.

BERT’s logo of the tough little dog is a nod to the company’s humanitarian practice of reducing the overpopulation of stray dogs and cats in Colombia. BERT donates a portion of profits to sterilization programs in underserved communities throughout Colombia.
