With the outdoor industry booming all across the world, it’s no secret that international students want to get in on the action. But how? Well, here’s where we hit the gong and queue the Whistler Adventure School (WAS), a post secondary career school located in one of the world’s best outdoor playgrounds — the beautiful ski, snowboarding and biking resort town of Whistler, British Columbia.
We’ll take you on a day in the life of an International student Leandro Bezzera, who moved from Brazil to take part in the diverse line-up of outdoor courses at WAS, and hasn’t looked back for a second. Leandro takes us on a typical day as he works, studies and enjoys the natural beauty of the Sea to Sky Corridor. And WAS isn’t only for International students – the student body is about 50% Canadian. All like-minded individuals joining the unique programs and expanding their knowledge and skills in different domains of Adventure Sport and Tourism.
Whistler Adventure School is a fully Post Secondary accredited school. Our focus is on experiential learning, you learn using hands-on teaching in small classes with many of the classes being outdoors! Probably the best part of the WAS experience is meeting other like-minded students and instructors who have the same passion as you.
