The Barkley Marathons is notorious for many reasons: it’s eccentric race director, the notoriously tough terrain, and the mystery surrounding the actual distance of the race to name a few. Each year, 40 runners are selected to race in a small town in Tennessee in an ultra marathon unlike any other.
