George Etzweiler didn’t start running until he was 49. By his standards he was a little overweight and needed to shed a few pounds. What he probably didn’t know is that 48 years later he’d still be running. In his words, “I don’t keep track of my heart rate, I have a pacemaker that does that.” Every year he runs up the Northeast’s tallest 6,289ft Mt. Washington and every year it get’s a little steeper. -ML
