Dragon Alliance has developed its first full eyewear collection designed in collaboration with artist-snowboarder Bryan Iguchi. His distinct, arresting artwork will be featured throughout various sun and optical styles, as well as on his Signature Series goggle, the PXV.
“My collection with Dragon is directly inspired by the vision and passion we share for the mountains and the environment,” said Iguchi.
Leave it to Dragon to produce a perfect fusion of design, performance and durability. By employing a unique toric lens curvature—the Panotech Lens—the PXV’s wrapped frame offers expanded sightlines. Couple that panoramic visibility with the Lumalens Colour Optimized Technology, Super Anti-Fog treatment and face-friendly triple-layer foam.
And Iguchi’s strap design is a thing of functional beauty.
The PXV standard lens is Red Ionized (for mid/bright light) and included is a bonus Light Rose lens (for low light or snowy conditions). I’m often night-skiing so I use this lens a lot, as it bumps up the definition of crud or rough patches I want to avoid on my home hill when I’m skiing icy groomers.
To switch the lenses, follow the instructions in the included card. It is easy and fairly fast, though perhaps not as fast as some of the magnetic systems of Dragon’s competitors. I.e., you probably won’t be changing lenses while wearing your gloves on the chairlift. However, Dragon’s system (the lenses have bracket posts on the inside that snap into the flexible frame receiver holes) feels very snug and safe. Once attached, the lens is not going anywhere. And after you’ve changed lenses once, it becomes intuitive.
