If you’ve never made the trek to Mont Sutton, then add it to your wish list now. This family-run mountain, famous for its glades, typically receives 500 cm of snow each season. With 60 runs and 204 junctions, forget the trail map and pick and choose your own adventure, chutes and ladders style.
Forty-five percent of the mountain is covered in glades, all the way from beginners trails to double-black diamonds. Each year the resort also plants close to 1,000 trees to help maintain Sutton’s unique character.
On the agenda for this season is a new magic carpet. Free to use, Sutton’s goal is to help beginners improve their on-snow skills at a faster pace. The mountain is also offering a Pre-Instructor course for snowboarders aged 13-17 years old.
In the summer, hiking, swimming and camping at the 840-meter summit means there’s always something going on at Mont Sutton. Each August the resort also celebrates National Swiss Day, one event you won’t want to miss.
