Can the ewool liners keep fingers warm and functional for multiple hours in the bitterest cold?
The first time I wore these liner gloves, I was standing on the side of a rail jam with a camera in my hands, fingers usually destined to go numb halfway through filming. Designed to be worn either on their own or as a base layer, I tested them sans mitts on a windy evening under the lights, running them on the low heat setting for roughly three hours straight. It was well below zero, but I never felt cold. Not the creeping chill, not the sharp finger bite—nothing. Every finger is individually heated, which sounds like marketing fluff until you realize how even and consistent the warmth feels.
Battery life impressed me right out of the gate. They showed up almost fully charged (always appreciated), and after three hours on the standard setting, there was still plenty of juice left. The batteries are removable, though a bit fiddly to take in and out—but the whole point is that you don’t really need to. The control button is big, obvious and easy to find even under layers. It also gives haptic feedback—sometimes a subtle vibration—so you know you’ve changed heat levels without looking. Small detail, big win. The fabric itself blocks wind well, feels durable and the touchscreen compatibility actually works consistently (which still feels like a minor miracle in glove tech).
Fit-wise, I went with a large and was surprised by how snug they felt—in a good way. Dexterity is solid, and they don’t feel clumsy. The only real adjustment was the battery bulk around the wrists. You notice it at first, and the longer gauntlet makes checking a watch tricky, but I adapted quickly.
