Mountainfilm on Tour lands at Squamish’s Eagle Eye Theatre on Saturday, February 15. This year, the event expands to two screenings, giving more adventure lovers a chance to immerse themselves in stories of exploration and wild places. But beyond the peerless filmmaking on offer, this night is about something deeper: rallying support for the Squamish Search & Rescue team.
Born in Telluride, Colorado, Mountainfilm is one of the globe’s top showcases of adventure storytelling. Each year, their pick of top outdoor films hits the road, landing in mountain towns from Chamonix to Tokyo, uniting explorers, environmentalists and weekend shredders alike.
This year’s lineup offers a mix of powerful short films, featuring some Sea to Sky filmmakers and athletes alongside global voices pushing the limits of human endurance and conservation.
Between screenings, festivalgoers can fuel up with excellent food and drinks, bid on silent auction items and take their chances at door prizes—all in support of Squamish SAR, the team that answers the call if things go awry in the backcountry.
