This Earth Week, active mothers deserve the finest eco-forward, durable gear in the universe. We’ve curated several items here to help your mom run with the wolves.

Danner FP Movement Adrika Boot

A result of their collaboration with women’s progressive fitness apparel brand FP Movement, the Danner FP Movement Adrika Boot is designed for active women and inspired by both brands’ shared love for the outdoors. This limited-edition Adrika (and the Trail 2650) will make Mom’s outfit anything but ordinary. Just because it’s comfortable and built for hiking doesn’t mean it can’t be fashion-forward. www.danner.com

But, in partnership with recycler Bureo, Costa is helping to change that. Made of 97% to 100% recycled fishing nets, their Untangled collection of sustainable frames includes Core Performance and Beach Lifestyle options that are as good for fishing as they are for the ocean. As a backcountry tumbler, it knows no equal. You can drop it on granite and it barely scratches. For wine people, the 18/8 food grade stainless steel is an ideal vessel for the finest vintages and will not affect the taste. And the press-fit lid will survive countless falls and washes. This is an around-the-world wine tumbler that is so easy-drinking you’ll use it at home, too.

We’ve tried the Verglas Shade Hoodie in hot weather and you won’t find better protection from the sun, or wicking properties, anywhere. The Hoodie is especially handy for long, hot paddling days. And you dive in the water wearing it and it dries out surprisingly fast. Plus: weighing just 200g, it makes an ideal trip layer if you’re travelling fast and light.

Skadi Life Women’s Tee

Skadi is a Norse ski goddess who runs with the wolves, hunts with a bow, drinks vodka with glacier chips and once stormed the home of the gods to demand revenge for her murdered father. If that spirit, imbued in each SKADI LIFE TEE SHIRT, doesn’t start mom’s day off right… nothing will. Plus! $5 of every shirt sold will be donated to our local chapter of Protect Our Winters Canada. www.mountainlifemedia.ca/store

Backstory

Backstory

Here’s a bit of Skadi backstory: “While not a household name today, Skaði shows up in nearly all the surviving Norse mythological texts. These oral stories were passed down for two centuries before being written down in the late Middle Ages. And in all of them, Skaði is a force to be reckoned with. Skaði storms Asgard (home of the gods) and demands revenge after her father is killed in a tit-for-tat with Loki the trickster. The gods offer her compensation, the most enticing part being that she can pick a husband from the gods—but she’s only allowed to choose by the sight of their feet. She picks the best-looking pair, hoping for the handsome Baldr (son of Odin, ruler of the gods), and winds up with Njörd, god of wind and sea. It proves a poor match. Njörd is from the coast, and Skaði the mountains. They attempt to inhabit each other’s domains but Njörd can’t sleep through the howling of the wolves, and the chattering seagulls are enough to make Skaði jump ship on the marriage. She returns home to Thrymheim ‘where the snow never melts’ to ski and hunt as she pleases.” –Nikkey Dawn

✨GIVEAWAY TIME✨We've teamed up with @rab.equipment to give you a chance to win an epic prize to kick-off your summer adventures and See More Sunrises!
Jet lag can be a beast. It throws off our body clock leaving us drained of energy and constipated; the prime recipe for irritability. Not exactly the ideal vacation vibe, right? In our quest to ensure you don’t get stuck trudging through your day like a zombie, missing first chair, and sleeping through those short, precious daylight hours, we consulted the pros: snowboarder and Canadian Olympian, @spencerobrien spends roughly 200 days a year on the road and just as many in the snow.
Last day of the season @whistlerblackcomb! How was your season on the mountain? #whistlerblackcomb #mountainlifer
We hope this long weekend took you somewhere this beautiful 😍 #mountainlifer

FRIDAY FLICK! @jasonhardrath has spent his entire life in motion: whether that was on sports teams as a young boy, as a triathlete through his early adulthood, or in the mountains, through today.
#ThrowbackThursday 👉Rhythmic raindrops pounded on the truck’s canopy. Wet snow avalanches growled down the slopes, and the river echoed its roar—evidence the Nass Valley’s spirit was very alive. According to the Nisga’a people, K’alii-Aksim-Lisims (the Nass River, one of BC’s richest river systems) is as much a part of them as their own flesh and blood, flowing through their land and lives.
Join us to hear from the Squamish Search & Rescue on trip planning, outdoor safety, outing ideas, and tips for backcountry travel while enjoying local beer and good company at @hellyhansenwhistler tomorrow eve! #Linkinbio to register!
@jamiemocrazy’s traumatic brain injury (TBI) occurred on her second competition run in slopestyle skiing at the finals of the World Ski & Snowboard Festival in Whistler in April, 2015.
Reel Rock 16 is coming to #Squamish! There are two showings 👉 May 20th and June 1st at the Eagle Eye Theatre, Howe Sound Secondary School, in beautiful Squamish supported by @climbonsquamish! #Linkinbio to get your tickets! #climbing #film #filmfest #climbers #adventure #climbon #adventure #squamishbc #tickets
