Your mountain adventure awaits at the 2022 Jasper Beer & Spirits Week and Festival.

Words :: Erin Moroz.

Tired of having the same lame answer for what you did this weekend? Bored with binging your friends’ Netflix suggestions and can’t bear even one more Zoom cocktail “party”? Then, dust off your going-out clothes because your long-overdue mountain adventure awaits at the Jasper Beer and Spirit Week & Festival!

The 2022 Jasper Beer and Spirit Week kicks off February 7th at Marmot Basin with beer specials all week long from Jasper Brewing Co. and culminates in the Jasper Beer & Spirits Festival at world famous Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge February 11th to 13th, 2022.

Imbibe in the best deal you can get at the Jasper Park Lodge any time of the year: two night’s accommodation at the four-star JPL plus all your meals and beverages. Go on, treat yourself, after two years laying low you deserve it. For details on the festival and to book your stay at the JPL check out

and be quick—it’s almost sold out!

Imagine you and your plus one sampling ale and spirits from more than 30 local breweries and distilleries; observe brew masters as they compete head-to-head in the first-of-its-kind Iron Brewer competition. Fancy an evening out with a twist? How about a blind dinner? (That’s right…dinner…blindfolded.) Experience a five-course meal and paired bevvies without seeing a thing—certain to heighten your other senses. Or, lace them up for a friendly game of shinny on Lac Beauvert while sampling beer from two local distilleries—it truly doesn’t get more Canadian than that. Feeling a little slow the next day? Get moving with morning yoga and…what’s that….a side of beer?  Yes! It’s proven that a small amount of beer replaces electrolytes after physical exertion—thank you, science!

Your taste buds will thank you while you eat and drink your way through the weekend attending chef-inspired cooking demos hosted by celebrated culinary artist, Cam Dobransky.

What’s more—each evening of the festival features a Grand Tasting event pairing beer and spirits with mouth-watering cuisine from the JPL’s renowned chefs. (Expert tip: pack something with an elastic waist band.) Tickets for the Grand Tasting events include:

  • Two-night accommodation at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Friday, February 11th and Saturday, February 12th
  • Five meals: Friday night at the festival, Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner at the festival, Sunday breakfast, all in the Grand Tasting Hall
  • Access to both festival nights from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Grand Tasting Hall, including all beverages and food
  • Access to all the weekend activities: yoga, snowshoeing, hiking, shinny on the lake, cooking demos, Iron Brewer Competition, and so much more

If spirits are your jam, fear not; learn to sample scotch like an expert as you sip your way through an afternoon of aged scotches accompanied by tasty morsels. Or get your artsy side on with painting and cocktail-making, both guided by experts.

And, if after all that, you’re still not ready to leave, wrap up the weekend with a Super Bowl tailgate party. Why not book an extra night at a special rate and watch the big game while enjoying a selection of beers and the JPL’s fabulous dinner buffet?

The unlimited possibilities of a weekend in the mountains are a click away. Pick and choose your way through the packed schedule of events or craft your own weekend—imagine a day on the slopes followed by a brew and a hot tub in one of Canada’s most beautiful mountain playgrounds.

The Jasper Beer & Spirits week and Beer & Spirit Festival are brought to you by Alberta Beer Fest, founder and host of the Calgary Beer Festival, one of the largest and most prestigious and beer festivals in the world. Give them a follow on Instagram @apres_collective and @abbeerfestivals.

This event will adhere to all Alberta Health covid-19 safety protocols. All attendees must wear a mask unless they are seated at a table sampling or eating.

With four decades of ice canoeing under his belt, Jean Anderson has dominated a sport that's unique to Quebec and that he helped shape.
Featuring three gravel and three MTB events, the series explores the intense competition and love of the sport among 60 of the world’s premier cyclists.

@lhymnedestrembles.ca is no mirage. Set in the lush Laurentian forest, yet easily accessible (less than an hour and a half from Montreal), this luxurious ski-in ski-out residential resort by @groupebrivia is nestled at the foot of the Versant Soleil side of Mont Tremblant. The Tremblant region is a perennial destination for outdoor enthusiasts from around the world, and within the province, attracting 3.5 million visitors annually.
ML staff and gear partners highlight the latest jackets, boards, crampons, hoodies, insoles and bindings in alpha order. #Linkinbio to learn more!
Adventures like this one require an inspiring team. @timemmett is a longtime friend, adventure partner and extraordinary human; an explorer, pro climber, surfer, freediver—you name it. @luca.freediver is an incredibly talented freediver, fresh off breaking the Canadian national freediving record (85 metres). The fourth man on the team, @brianhockenstein, is a filmmaker and multi-talented snowboarder always ready to jump into the fray and capture the magic. - words Jimmy Martinello. #Linkinbio to learn more!
We came in search of the connection of the human spirit to both art and adventure, whether climbing from the depths of moulins and ice caves, breaking through ice while paddleboarding fjords, climbing icebergs, freediving between tectonic plates or surfing cold waves.
A thousand and one things could have gone wrong, but she made it to the top: @mariepier.desharnais is the first Quebecois woman to climb K2.
