Bollé has launched an ambitious new high-contrast lens called Volt +, their first developed using Artificial Intelligence (AI). It’s the latest innovation to come out of EPIC, Bollé’s lab based in Lyon, France. The technology will be included throughout Bollé’s line of sport and lifestyle sunglasses.

Bollé worked with HUE.AI to evaluate 20 million different lens formula combinations and arrived at an entirely new colour experience. In the past, high-contrast lenses have tended to enhance one colour while diminishing some others, but the Volt + enhances a huge spectrum, offering a complete lens that boosts and improves depth perception.
We tried out the Talent sunglasses with Volt + lens while paddling and hiking. Looking through the Volt + after a regular lens is akin to watching 5K video after an old VHS tape. Everything is repolished and more precise.

While hiking, the Volt + lenses evened out the shadows in the forest, allowing the eye to pick up more detail when transitioning from bright areas to darker. And while paddling, the polarization was more pronounced than average, all but eliminating glare and really clarifying underwater detail.
Partnering with M7 Innovations and QReal for the third time, Bollé is further supporting the launch with multiple Augmented Reality (AR) ‘try-on’ and ‘try out’ campaigns, allowing users to experience the Volt + lens’ new colours across 15 different frame styles.
