For Winter 2022, Mountain Hardwear has overhauled much of its snow lineup, including the Boundary Ridge GORE-TEX Jacket and Bib. (Available in both women’s—Jacket + Bib—and men’s—Jacket + Bib.) For on-piste skiers/riders who also favour sidecountry glades and bowls, this combo is full of versatile features. We like the Jacket’s big internal drop-pockets to stow skins, maps, gels or a backup beanie.

We also like the Bib’s stretch fabric on the upper section, giving you that extra mobility when you’re fiddling with your bindings. And both pieces have a soft-but-tough tricot backing that adds more warmth than your average shell layer.

In addition, we tried out the new Redeye 45L Travel Pack.
Made of recycled Cordura nylon, it’s carry-on–friendly, with tuckable shoulder straps and tuckable hip-belt for when we’re flying again. Laptop compartment and full back-panel access make this mid-sized pack very user-friendly and applicable for just about anything.
These days we use it as a family-hiking daypack and it feels bottomless for all those extra layers, snacks, water bottles, first-aid kits and anything else that will make everyone’s afternoon on the trail a lot more enjoyable.
Mountain Hardwear has also introduced their Powabunga 32 and Snoskiwoski 40 ski packs this winter. Between the Boundary Ridge kits and these packs, you’ll be geared up for every powder day or backcountry trip.
