Long, self-powered days on the water—this is something we need more of this summer. And we will venture even farther out to find the remotest safe spots we can. Since there’s no shade on a paddleboard, canoe or kayak, we need the right protection from the sun. And the Helly Hansen Solen Collection provides just that.
The Solen Collection originates from the Norwegian word “sun” and offers comfort and sun protection with the combination of LIFA Active and the S’café fiber.

The S’café fiber on the face fabric features recycled polyester that has recycled coffee grounds infused into it during the fiber creation process, which provides a UPF rating of 50+, and never wears out or washes off. The inside of the Helly Hansen Solen collection features the LIFA fiber which is completely hydrophobic, immediately moving moisture to the outer layer, to keep you dry and comfortable in warm or high-intensity situations. The collection’s lightweight, quick-dry, and moisture-managing fabric allows for UPF 50+ protection, both when wet or dry, regardless of the color of the garment (which can change the UPF rating). This functionality will protect you and keep you comfortable in all environments, ranging from the ocean to the alpine.

About HH LIFA Active SOLEN Collection
QUICK DRY
Solen products feature LIFA Active utilizing a plated construction, continually move moisture away from the skin to the outer surface of the fabric for faster drying process due to the integration of LIFA next to skin. LIFA is Helly Hansen’s proprietary fiber that is hydrophobic, meaning it cannot absorb moisture inherently, keeping sweat off your skin and keeping you dry and comfortable. Moisture then transfers to the outer layer of the fabric, where it spreads across the surface to dry quickly.
UPF 50+ SUN PROTECTION
With the use of recycled coffee grounds in the fiber, the Solen collection has UPF 50+ sun protection, both when wet or dry, regardless of color. Since the coffee grounds are infused in the fiber and not a coating, this UPF protection never goes away or needs to be re-coated.

ODOR CONTROL
The S’Cafe fiber has anti-odor characteristics achieved with a chemical-free and energy-saving process. By infusing recycled coffee grounds into the fiber, it changes the characteristics of the fibers and allows the micro-pores of the coffee grounds also absorb odor.
LIFA
LIFA is Helly Hansen’s proprietary hydrophobic fiber that prohibits the absorption of liquid, instead moving any sweat or moisture away from the body. When LIFA is plated next to a layer with hydrophilic (moisture absorbing) properties, the sweat from the body is moved away from the skin and transported to the second layer, where it is absorbed. This enables you to stay dry and comfortable.
