On the Trail with Smartwool

Smartwool started out as a ski sock–maker in 1994, when their material of choice, Merino wool, was still a niche product.

As the first company to make a high-performance Merino ski sock, Smartwool should be credited with sparking a revolution that has popularized sustainable fibres in the outdoor recreation sector.

Merino wool is indeed a high-performance fabric. It is softer than conventional wool, moisture-wicking, thermoregulating (warm when it’s cold, and cool when it’s warm) and even odor-neutralizing. It will keep you drier, more comfortable, and warmer for longer.
