To be a professional athlete at the age of 36—especially in the action sports realm, you need to be much more than a daredevil. With 20 years under his belt as a professional rider, Thomas Vanderham certainly ticks off more boxes than just his ability to huck himself. He does it with the style, precision, and laid back attitude that will keep you upright in most situations.
While he made a name for himself on the North Shore, Vanderham started riding in Edmonton, practising the finer points of riding a bike. When he moved to the shore, it was game on. —ML
