Lhotse: Skiing the World’s 4th Highest Peak

The Lhotse Colouir, a 50-degree couloir descending from the summit of the 4th highest peak in the world has always been the apple of any serious ski mountaineers eye. Until last year, the line had never been skied in full. If the logistics of travel don’t stop you, the hazards of one of the most volatile mountain regions on earth will—the route to climb the infamous line lies right next to the standard route up Mt Everest.

While many skiers have attempted the colouir, and the face below, last September Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson were the first to bag this epic descent, and the North Face was alongside them to document the whole thing. Check out this amazing documentary following along on this epic feat.—ML
