One of the happiest moments of my life is when I say up from the chair at the laser eye clinic and could see the clock across the room with precision acuity. The docs had transformed me from Mole Man to Better Than 20/20 Man in a matter of minutes, and my life changed dramatically.
Before the surgery, goggles were just a protective shield from dirt, debris, snow and wind. I couldn’t really see much anyway, so optics weren’t much of a factor. These days, you can bet I care. Strap on a good set of goggles, and there’s no going back.
These Oakley Prizm lenses are by far the best I’ve used. Oakley’s claims that the Prizm lens helps to define subtle transitions in dirt conditions are true — the increased contrast and definition, even on grey days or in the dark single track sections of the rain forest I ride, really help me pick my lines without hesitation.
And these lenses are tough. I’m hard on my gear, both on trail and in transit. These lenses take a beating, and the frames are robust, without being clunky. Good fit, breathability and a smart lens change system are just the icing on the cake.
