First Female Team Completes Moranic Picnic in Tetons

Kelly Halpin and her climbing partner Bree Buckley recently set out to become the first females to successfully finish the Moranic Picnic.

The Moranic Picnic includes a 25 mile bike ride from the Jackson Hole Town Square to Teton National Park, followed by a three mile hike to Leigh Lake for a 1.6 mile swim across snow fed waters to the base of Mount Moran. From there, participants ascend 6,368 ft. of elevation to the summit Moran, requiring technical climbing skills and gear. Then they turn back to do the whole thing in reverse, eventually ending back in Jackson Town Square after 30+ hours of exposure, exhaustion and sleep deprivation.
