A German tourist recently scaled the Great Pyramid of Giza in broad daylight.
According to USA Today, Andrej Ciesielski hired a taxi from Cairo to take him to Giza where he “just started climbing.”
He quickly scrambled the first steps “so nobody would follow me and take me down,” he says. It wasn’t until he was about halfway up the 146m pyramid that police finally spotted him. Ciesielski reached the top in about eight minutes, and was back on the ground after about 20, when police took him into custody.
The stunt could net the climber a three-year stint in jail.
