This past weekend, the world’s fastest racers competed at Louise Ski Resort in the only World Cup event outside of Europe to join the ranks of the famous Club 5 Ski Classics. Skier Aksel Lund Svindal took the gold in the Men’s category.
The Lake Louise Alpine Ski World Cup is one of the select few that hold both the men’s and ladies speed events on the World Cup circuit and will play host to the first Audi FIS Ski World Cup downhill and super-G races of the season. This is the only event of its kind in Canada and is broadcast to a global audience in excess of 184 million.
It’s the Ladies Speed event this week with Downhill #1 on Friday, Downhill #2 Saturday and the Ladies Super G on Sunday.
The Winterstart Festival at the Lake Louise Ski Resort kick-starts each race day an hour before race time with a free Fan Cheering Zone and Kid ZONE. No lift ticket required.
