Friday Flick: Iceland – Salomon Freeski TV

Shot on Iceland’s incredible Troll Peninsula (think perfect ski lines backing up to the roiling ocean), the newest offering from Salomon Freeski TV is one for the books. The short film features the late Andreas Fransson and is dedicated to Fransson and J.P. Auclair, who tragically died last week in an avalanche on the Chile-Argentina border. The dedication is fitting: beauty, vitality and pure joy pulse throughout the film, reminding us that there is no substitute—no TV show or drug—for true adventure. And while we can never forget that risk lies in the mountains, we should also honor those who don’t allow it to stop them from pursuing a life of adventure and inspiring us to do the same.

“Iceland is famous for its stories, the sagas. Mythical legends of land and people. Stories of trolls and battles and temperamental landscape. Even stories of heroic skiers.”
