Scrub the Tub

By Scott Parent.

Calling all open-water Ontario divers! Tuesday, June 17 marks the second annual Scrub the Tub event in Tobermory’s Little Tub harbour. Sponsored by the Crowsnest Pub, Pepsi, and Sleeman – with underwater clean-up coordinated by the Diver’s Den – last year’s event garnered a reef of supporters from near and far, ready for a good time and the afterparty at the Crowsnest.

You don’t have to take the plunge to participate. The majority of volunteers take part in spanking the docks and boardwalks clean, while the polar crew (must have minimum open-water certification) floss the shipwrecks and scour the bottom of Little Tub.

Diver’s Den will supply gear and air for the dive team. Interested in the event? Email Kathy at [email protected] Divers interested in
joining the polar crew can call Kelly at the Den: 519.596.2363/ [email protected]

Meeting time for divers is 3pm at the Diver’s Den. All others are to gather at the Crowsnest at 4.30pm. After the Scrub, the  Crowsnest Pub afterparty boasts free pizza and beer!

We all admire the mint visibility of Tobermory waters. Come on up and help clean the Tub!
