New GO Fest Will Rock your May Two-Four

GO Fest Whistler is a diverse new festival happening on the Victoria Day long weekend. With four days of events and activities celebrating outdoor recreation and music, the challenge starts with deciding what to do first.

Organizers recently released more info about one of the centrepiece events of GO Fest – the revived Great Snow-Earth-Water Race.

This multisport, team relay over snow, earth and water – last held in Whistler 20 years ago – will make a comeback on Sunday, May 18.

The event will be made up of six timed stages starting with ski/snowboard touring and downhill skiing/snowboarding on Whistler Blackcomb; downhill mountain biking from the snow line to the valley; running; canoeing through the River of Golden Dreams; and finishing with cross country biking.

Interested teams must have either five or  six members, meaning one team member is permitted to compete in two stages. Every team must have at least two women and two men out of their total five or six.
