This is the kind of clip that social media was made for — two minutes of really fresh mountain mastery in the buff — basically guaranteed to put a smile on your overworked face and have you scheming for your own naked ski day with your posse this season.

From bare-assed chairlift riding to cliff airs wearing nothing more than socks and a smile, Valhalla’s naked ski segment is already sparking laughter through dark cinemas across the world, with skiers and non-skiers alike. This segment really is a thing of beauty, a throwback to the good ‘ol days when skiing was all about pure unadulterated FUN. It would be awesome to see some outtakes from this day(s) of shooting. Did the skiers and riders get warm blankets to heat up after a spill in the snow or did they just suck it up, hop on the chairlift and keep going? I hope they at least were given shots of whiskey at the bottom to keep up the morale, although judging by the shit-eating grins it looks as though the morale was already sky high.

What does skiing have to do with Valhalla?

  7. Joanne says:
    January 7, 2015 at 9:33 pm

Valhalla is symbolic of heaven in Norse mythology. The top of a mountain is about the closest anyone can get to heaven.

This Derek must say that he think’s the “hippies” do understand the idea of Valhalla. Pleasing Ullr one turn at a time!

In the early ’70’s we “ran for governor” at Skiland in Fairbanks AK. Streaking the mtn. I crashed and lost a ski right at the mid hill lift line. One lady busted out laughing. When asked what she thought was so funny, she said ” Thats my son.”.

It’s really beautiful to see the unobscured human body performing, all the muscles working together, in such a beautiful, natural place. I wish we could enjoy more of our outdoor activities in our primal state, if it weren’t so dang cold sometimes!

  39. Kim says:

Fantastic!!! I’m ready to go skiing!!!

  40. Joe Dokes says:
    January 15, 2015 at 3:43 pm

I have done ton of crazy stuff and do not mind being nude.
I don’t think you could pay me to do this. It’s really cold and to fall in snow nude would really be painful! I am a pretty good skier, but most of these guys are great. I would do some of the stuff with clothing, but not all of it.
To make those drops being nude takes someone that is pretty sure they are not going to wipe out.

  41. John says:
    January 16, 2015 at 9:39 pm

The men weren’t wearing shorts.. Look again.

  42. Silvia says:

  43. mike says:
    January 27, 2015 at 5:57 am

Brian, why are you such a, know it all, Punk. Maybe Heaven is what you want it to be?

  44. mike says:
    January 27, 2015 at 6:15 am

Over the years, perverted minds have robbed us of our freedom to live life, as we see fit to live. I, for one, am happy to see unconventional people having fun and living free. Personally, my balls would get too cold, because I fall a lot but who are we to say others can’t express themselves anyway they want to, as long as their not hurting anyone?

  45. al says:
    January 28, 2015 at 11:12 am

This was great! it should become a team olympic sport!

  46. Dean says:
    January 28, 2015 at 4:42 pm

  47. Niko says:
    January 29, 2015 at 1:51 pm

I feel like this is a great way to get your balls ripped off on a branch.

  49. jane petersen says:

I want to do this with my friends before I die!

  50. Jim Smith says:
    February 5, 2015 at 3:33 pm

I’m more of a warm weather nudist (MUCH warmer!), but I could do this.
What ski resort was this at?
I’ll have to look into this!!

Adventures like this one require an inspiring team. @timemmett is a longtime friend, adventure partner and extraordinary human; an explorer, pro climber, surfer, freediver—you name it. @luca.freediver is an incredibly talented freediver, fresh off breaking the Canadian national freediving record (85 metres). We came in search of the connection of the human spirit to both art and adventure, whether climbing from the depths of moulins and ice caves, breaking through ice while paddleboarding fjords, climbing icebergs, freediving between tectonic plates or surfing cold waves.

In 1986 @beverlyglenncopeland recorded Keyboard Fantasies using an Atari computer, a keyboard and a drum machine. After releasing it on cassette and selling maybe 50 copies, he went back to writing for Sesame Street and making the odd guest appearance on Mr. Dressup. In 2015, a cassette made its way to Japanese collector Ryota Masuko, a record store owner with a big online presence, who quickly bought, and then sold, all the Keyboard Fantasies cassettes he could find. Record labels worldwide lined up to reissue the hidden gem on vinyl.
