ZEAL Optics Unveils Sunglasses Made from Cotton

ZEAL Optics has announced the release of the Ace – the world’s first sunglass with a cotton-derived biodegradable frame. Designed in Boulder, Colorado and crafted by the renowned Italian powerhouse, Mazzucchelli, the Ace is a revolution in sustainable eyewear. It is the first of its kind and the greenest sunglass, ever.

“The eyewear industry needs innovators. Small, independent brands like ZEAL help to push the limits of the market,” said Joe Prebich, ZEAL’s Director of Marketing. “It’s so exciting to think about how the brand can transform at retail around a product that has this type of ecological story behind it.”

In addition to this revolutionary frame, the Ace offers ZEAL Optics’ patent-pending plant-based e-llume lenses, with unparalleled protection from UVA, B, and C rays. The e-llume also has the ability to block a negative light range called High Energy Visible (HEV) light, recently cited as a possible cause of cataracts and macular degeneration. These lenses also contain a special hard coating for scratch resistance, along with an exclusive high transmission polarized film for increased eye protection from harmful rays.
