Ontario’s most challenging rock climbing is on the Georgian Bay shoreline of the Bruce Peninsula, chock-full of heavily cryptic dolerite limestone.

Pro climber and certified guide extraordinaire Leslie Timms recently climbed a new pitch near Lion’s Head. Here’s her report: “Dave Ziewlenewski and I recently put up the first 30m pitch, Stratus Fear 5.12d, pure trad. We just finished bolting/cleaning/scoping out a bolted extension that will take this epic line to the top via some interesting tactics. Just did the first lead attempts on it this week, linked the upper crux moves, took some of the massive falls I feared/fantasized about. Moves are all ready, now time to piece it together. Hoping Mother Nature is nice to me on my couple days off from work each week!”
Timms is sponsored by Sterling Rope, La Sportiva, Sanuk, Blurr and Joshua Tree Products.
