One of Patagonia’s first ambassadors, Canmore-based Barry Blanchard, is aptly described as the “Bonatti of the Rockies.”

Blanchard travels the globe in search of adventure on high alpine faces. His exploits include the first ascent of Infinite Patience on the Emperor Face of Mt. Robson, the first ascent of the North Pillar of North Twin, and a first ascent on the north face of Les Droites.

-First ascent of Infinite Patience on the Emperor Face of Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
-First ascent of Homage to Pat on the Southwest Face of the East Kahiltna Peak, Alaska.
-Ascent of the Southeast Ridge of Mt. Asperity, Waddington Range, BC.
-Ascent of the North Face of Bravo Peak, Waddington Range, BC.
-Featured in the IMAX film Vertical Limit.
-First ascent of the North Pillar of North Twin, Jasper, AB.
-First ascent of the North Face of Les Droites, Chamonix.
-Received the Summit of Excellence Award at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival.
-Awarded honorary membership with The Alpine Club of Canada.
