Situated in the Charlevoix region, an hour northeast of Quebec City, Le Massif offers one of the most scenic views you’ll ever see from the summit of an eastern ski resort. Overlooking the St. Lawrence River, Le Massif is home to the highest vertical east of the Canadian Rockies rising 780 metres tall. With 52 trails and glades, there’s a good mix of runs for all ability levels, however, 55 percent of the mountain does contain advanced terrain.
What really makes Le Massif awesome is its guided backcountry cat skiing tours. Held on nearby Mont-Liguori, this zone is home to 99 acres of out-of-bounds terrain. Le Massif also averages 650 cm of natural snowfall each season, providing some pretty epic skiing conditions. If you’re thinking about booking a vacation here, check out the St. Lawrence Summits for lodging discounts and multi-summit lift tickets that can be used at all three mountains.
During the summer months, the area around Le Massif offers several cycling routes. The shortest one, covering L’Isle-aux-Coudres, is 24 km long, while La Grand Tour clocks in at 104 km.
