Located 10 minutes west from Collingwood, Blue Mountain is a total one-stop shop. Thanks to the hard work of Jozo Weider in 1941, Blue went from being a teeny tiny ski hill to Ontario’s largest resort. With 42 runs and a massive terrain park that spreads from North to South, there are more than enough goods to go around.
The colourful 40-acre pedestrian village is also home to numerous hotels, restaurants, retail shops and après options to keep crowds of any size and age entertained. This season Blue is installing 24 new high-temperature snow guns to ensure all bases are covered, just in case Mother Nature decides not to cooperate on any given day.
In the summer, Blue Mountain is home to 22 downhill and cross-country bike trails ranging from easy to expert. Beginners can sign up for a one-hour scenic tour to get a feel for things. There’s also select trails specifically designated for hiking. For those looking to try something different, Blue offers mountain top segway tours. Or, you can play a round of 18-holes at the onsite Monterra Golf course.
